Tyne Daly - Actress; born Ellen Tyne Daly on February 21, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin. Most known for her role as as Detective Mary Beth Lacey in the TV series "Cagney & Lacey" (1982-1988).

Daly was raised in Westchester County, New York, where she started her career by performing in summer stock with her family. Daly's father was Wisconsinite actor James Daly who was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on October 23, 1918. James Daly is best known for his role as Dr. Paul Lochner in the televison hospital drama series "Medical Center" (1969-1976). Her mother, Mary Hope Newell, was also an actress. Her actor brother, Tim Daly, is best known for his role as Joe Hackett on the NBC sitcom "Wings" (1990-1997).

Daly has won six Emmy Awards for her television work and a Tony Award, and is a 2011 American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee.
