Trillium (trillium, wakerobin, tri flower, birthroot, birthwort) is a genus of about fifty flowering plant species in the family Melanthiaceae.
The Trilliums on this page are Sessile Trilliums. Sessile meaning no stalk or petiole and leaves fanned out directly below the blossom, all supported on a tall stem.
To be honest, I cannot accurately identify the sessile trillium varieties with 100% confidence. There are so many common names for these plants that, depending on where you live, different plants might share the same common name.
